Miss Festival Scholarship Pageant Saturday at MHS

Delta Theta Tau Sorortity of Marion will be hosting its 22nd annual Miss Festival Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, Nov. 15th, at 7 p.m. at the Marion High School auditorium.

The pageant provides scholarships for its winners each year and donates the proceeds to charity. Proceeds and donations have totaled over $36,000 in the past 20 years. The proceeds this year will be donated to the Yellow Ribbon Campaign. Amy Oxford and Kathy Williams of the Yellow Ribbon Campaign will be on hand to share words of appreciation.

Master of Ceremony for the evening will be Bill Glenn of Marion. The Yellow-Support Our Troops sportswear campaign will be kicked off with the help of Miss Festival 2006, Rachel Brock.

Twelve young ladies from all over Southern Illinois will be competing in categories including interview, sportswear, swimsuit and evening gown for the title, scholarship and numerous gifts.
Contestants include; Brittni Reannon Dunning, 22, of Carterville, sponsored by family and friends; Jenna Elizabeth Harner, 18, of Dongola, sponsored by The Great Boars of Fire; Andrea Marie Mays, 21, of Cobden, sponsored by Stute Construction; Jayci Jeremiah, 17, of Du Quoin, sponsored by Frank Deaton State Farm; Bethany Grace Cohen, 21, of Anna, sponsored by Foley-Sweitzer Motors; Chelsea Reardon, 17, of Murphysboro, sponsored by Premier Medical Billing; Elizabeth Lloyd, 24, of Anna, sponsored by Lloyd’s TV; Sarah Rose Panici, 22, of Carbondale, sponsored by Southern Illinois Specialty Services; Kayla Breanne Barkau, 20, of Okawville, sponsored by The Headlines Beauty Salon; Jennifer Rose, 24, of Marion, sponsored by family; Maegan Elizabeth Ferguson, 19, of Dongola, sponsored by family; and Kristin Slechticky, 21, of Pinckneyville, sponsored by family.

Tickets may be purchased from any contestant, or at the door for $7 for adults and $2 for children 10 and under.
