The Marion Cultural and Civic Center will be the location for a benefit concert Friday evening.
The concert will feature the A cappella quartet Blend and benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis.
The concert entitled "A cappella Doo Wop Revue" will also have the female version that call themselves the Blendettes. One of the features of the revue is an appearance of entertainer and comedian Stagger Lee and Johnathan Estes of Blend says that there maybe a very special guest.
He has hinted that a specal appearance of "The King of Rock and Roll" (yes, that would be Elvis) is expected.
Blend brings back all of those fun lving memories of the 50's and 60's ith a tist of fun.During the summer of 2008, Blend orked in Branson, Mo. at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre and offered their on sho at the Gene illiams Country Theatre.
Blend brings a full-scale Branson style sho that includes many surprises.
To top of the night, BLEND adds in a little touch of their Southern Gospel roots in their gospel section, where they present some of their favorite hymns.
Tickets are available at the Marion Civic Center. Reserved seats are $15 and General Admission seats are $12.
